Welcome to River Laver
Family Owned - Family Run

The perfect place to relax and enjoy North Yorkshire

River Laver Holiday Park is a small, family owned park with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The family’s personal attention to detail makes this the perfect place in which to relax and unwind.

The park is situated in a peaceful location, yet is within walking distance of the historic cathedral city of Ripon and the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Deer Park.

Being in a tranquil location, there is an abundance of wildlife on the park; including rabbits, squirrels, a wide variety of birds and even the occasional fox and badger. Don’t be surprised to see ducks enjoying a swim in your water butt or a kingfisher on the River Laver.

The park reception and shop offers general groceries and daily papers as well as essential sweets, drinks and ice creams.

There is also a laundry, comprehensive tourist information section, book library and a great selection of our favourite local eateries for your perusal.

We welcome well behaved dogs on site.

To keep in touch with the outside world all areas of the park are served with Wi-Fi coverage.

Park History

River Laver Holiday Park was developed in 1990 from a cornfield by the original owners. It was bought in 1998 by Glen and Helen Scholey with their family and continues to evolve today. And here the story begins…

A Leap In To The Unknown

Tourer Pitch Development

Eight fully serviced, hard standing tourer pitches created.

Council Depot Expansion Begins

The adjacent council storage depot was purchased and eventually work began on a big transformation to add a further 29 static pitches to the existing park.

Council Depot Complete!

After much blood, sweat and tears the new development was complete!

Seasonal to Static Redevelopment

The first stage of redeveloping old seasonal tourer pitches to create more static pitches begins!

Static Redevelopment Finale

Touring Toilet Block Refit

At the end of the 2013 touring season, although still beautifully clean but tired, we decide to refit the tourer toilet block with a contemporary and more spacious design ready for the 2014 season!

Silver Jubilee Anniversary

Celebrating 25 years of River Laver! Wow… where did that time go?

Reception Entrance Big Build

During an extremely busy year we somehow managed to provide the reception building with a ‘facelift’ porch and seating area.

Park Field Development

After much hard work our adjacent rally field was granted permission for a further holiday home extension… let’s see how it goes!

Enter the 3rd Generation!
