The perfect place to relax and enjoy North Yorkshire

header-border

River Laver Holiday Park is a small, family owned park with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The family’s personal attention to detail makes this the perfect place in which to relax and unwind.

The park is situated in a peaceful location, yet is within walking distance of the historic cathedral city of Ripon and the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Deer Park.

Being in a tranquil location, there is an abundance of wildlife on the park; including rabbits, squirrels, a wide variety of birds and even the occasional fox and badger. Don’t be surprised to see ducks enjoying a swim in your water butt or a kingfisher on the River Laver.

The park reception and shop offers general groceries and daily papers as well as essential sweets, drinks and ice creams.

There is also a laundry, comprehensive tourist information section, book library and a great selection of our favourite local eateries for your perusal.

We welcome well behaved dogs on site.

To keep in touch with the outside world all areas of the park are served with Wi-Fi coverage.

Ripon will be the place to be this August as Ripon City Council hosts an amazing event to celebrate Yorkshire Day on Wednesday 1st

Yorkshire's smallest city is set to put on a fantastic day of regional pride which will be part of a very special week, including the traditional St Wilfrid's Procession on Saturday 4th August.

On 1st August there will be a Civic Procession of dignitaries from all corners of Yorkshire. All decked out in their full regalia, this will certainly be a sight to see. The procession will leave the Spa Hotel at around 10.20am, proceed along Westgate, around the Market Place and along Kirkgate to the Cathedral for a special service.

The Market Place itself will be filled with activities including amusements and activities for children; market stalls showcasing Yorkshire businesses, organisations and produce; storytelling and re-enactments. Ripon Photographic Society will be hosting a photography competition.

The evening will see a programme of entertainment on the square with live music including the Ripon City Band. At 9pm there will be a special one-off Hornblowing ceremony around the obelisk and the evening will culminate in a Yorkshire Day themed firework display.

In the early evening, as well as the fun on Ripon's Market Place, Ripon Cathedral will be hosting a 'Picnic int' Park' event in the Dean's Garden (the same site as the Beer Festival). Bring your own refreshments or buy from on-site food vendors and licensed bar and be entertained with live music and children's activities. The Cathedral will also be hosting a series of Family Days throughout the week.
